The fitters have left - all the glazing is done and the window shelves are in. Yesterday's problems have been sorted - the door opens all the way and the fancy finials (spelling?) have been removed. It's all looking rather good! Now we wait for the builders to return.
The inside...
One or two niggles still... Don't like the roofvent mechanism protruding into the roof space, don't like the fact that this mechansim is gold coloured whilst all the other fitments are silver, and the handle is way too long!
We now have glass in the roof and the French Doors are in. Not sure I like the fancy bits on the top of the conservatory though! (No work yesterday - the fitters were playing the 'off to finish another job' game.)
The french windows from the inside...
Now the problem - the doors were supposed to open flush against the wall; they don't!
Builders and conservatory people arrived this morning. As I left for work this morning, they were knocking the hole through for the French Doors! By the end of the day the frame is up!
Here's the hole from the inside...
The tall wall is finished and the builders have left. They have done an excellent job and are a friendly lot. Today's cakes went down well with Gillian's Brownies scoring higher then David's Flapjacks! We now wait for Sandison to arrive for the next stage.
No work yesterday to allow the concrete to set (and dry!). The walls at the front are now at their final height and the tall wall has begun.
The concrete base has been layed - heavy rain means it resembles a paddling pool!
Very neat brickwork!
The trenches have been filled with concrete and we have new guttering!
The patio has gone, we have a hardcore base and some very neat trenches for the foundations.
The builders (David Lewis General Builders) have just arrived and marked out.
Keep coming back to watch for more progress.
